BusinessLeague at Shopify Meetup + two live sessions for the community
Four themes, one idea: performance shows up in sales.
BusinessLeague at Shopify Meetup CEE, stronger Search intent and infrastructure built to scale
This week brings together several themes that fit naturally in the same story: BusinessLeague is joining the Shopify community on stage, the data shows high-intent traffic becoming more efficient, the tech team explains what it takes to build infrastructure for real operational volume, and the community gets two live sessions next week.
This is not just a week of updates. It is a week about what performance marketing looks like when it is treated seriously: sales, data, process, education and transparency.
BusinessLeague is joining Shopify Meetup CEE 2026
BusinessLeague will be a Partner at Shopify Meetup Central & Eastern Europe 2026, on May 28, at Grand Hotel Bucharest.
Mihaela Bourceanu, COO at 2Performant, will be there for a practical conversation about e-commerce growth. Not about budgets spent “for visibility”. Not about promises that are hard to measure. But about a model where top affiliates put their own capital to work and earn only when they generate real sales for eShops.
For Shopify eShops, the point is simple: how do you activate a network of affiliates working on CPS, and how do you turn affiliate marketing into a growth channel with tracking, feed sync and a leaderboard?
In BusinessLeague, the important questions are direct:
▸ what sells ▸ who does the selling ▸ how they sell ▸ how fast growth appears when the program is set up properly and affiliates have skin in the game
For Shopify eShops, the BusinessLeague app in Shopify App Store makes setup easier: tracking and feed sync, without unnecessary implementation friction. For affiliates, Shopify Meetup CEE is a good place to identify eShops with potential and prepare clear promotion angles: Search, CSS, PPC, content, email.
In a healthy ecosystem, e-commerce has a leaderboard. And the leaderboard is measured in sales.

Gabriel Bonciu: High-intent Search traffic is becoming relatively stronger again
Gabriel Bonciu, Bizdev Director at 2Performant, published an article on BusinessLeague Chronicles about a trend from the last ~8 months: CSS / Google Search / PPC affiliates are converting better.
The data from the first 4 months of the year:
▸ 739 eShops, 743,990 orders
▸ orders +9.5% YoY
▸ clicks 20.4M, -1.8% YoY
▸ average conversion rate 3.64%, +11.5% YoY
In short: more sales from roughly the same traffic. Likely causes — more sophisticated CSS and PPC partners, optimisation across multiple product feeds, better ML for bidding, plus the fact that affiliates operating with their own capital optimize differently than agencies. All conditional on strong fundamentals at the eShop: price, feed, UX, operations.
The article gets into the nuances.
Andrei Rotaru: bulk processing is not a script. It is a product feature.
On 2Performant Tech, Andrei Rotaru published “From manual ops to safe bulk processing: designing a bulk request pipeline that scales”.
The context: actions like accepting commissions or editing monetary values need to be applied across many records. Manually that works for a handful of cases. At volume it breaks — inconsistencies, errors, no auditability.
The team’s solution: bulk processing as a complete flow — CSV templates, strict validation on upload, a Bulk Process Request as a first-class object with its own lifecycle, asynchronous batch processing, deduplication, partial success with a downloadable error CSV, visible UI progress.
The principle: in bulk operations, failures are not exceptions, they are part of the flow. The system processes what it can, explains what failed, returns an artifact the user can act on.
Bulk processing as a product feature, not a script. The article walks through the full architecture.

Dorin Boerescu on Affiliate Marketing Podcast by Affiverse
“Dorin, you got me at gamifying affiliate marketing.” That’s how the conversation between Dorin Boerescu and Lee-Ann Johnstone started, back in 2023. Lee-Ann is the founder of Affiverse (recently acquired by Ace Alliance), host of The Affiliate Marketing Podcast, and one of the most respected voices in the UK affiliate industry.
Three years later, the conversation finally happened in a structured format: a full episode in season 8 of the podcast, about what the affiliate industry keeps missing in e-commerce.
Three things Dorin highlighted:
Affiliates are taking all the risk.
Brands are stuck in a control mindset that keeps the industry from reaching its full potential.
Affiliate managers are doing all the hard work without being noticed.
Plus other observations from 17+ years in the industry. The rest is in the episode.
Spor la conversii!™️
